He’s run with her, so he knows her.

Presented with the King Solomon choice of selecting either running mate Assemblywoman Marlene Caride (D-36) or county colleague Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (D-35), Assemblyman Gary Schaer (D-36) celebrated both.
And he even threw in Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver (D-34), the former speaker, as an object of praise as Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy apparently mulls over his ticket mate.
“She’s brilliant,” Schaer said of Caride. “She’s personable, deliberative, discerning and adaptive.”
Is she Murphy’s choice?
“No idea,” the veteran assemblyman from Passaic told InsiderNJ. “Her competition is considerable. Sheila and Shavonda are each amazing. It’s a rough choice.”
