Senate Judiciary Committee Affirms Repollet to Lead Department of Education

The Freeholder fight unites more than it delights.

TRENTON – The Senate Judiciary Committee just voted in favor of giving the job of commissioner of Education to Lamont Repollet, the former superintendent of Asbury Park.

Support for Governor Phil Murphy’s choice to lead the department was unanimous.

Although he did vote in favor of Repollet, Senator Mike Doherty gave a pep talk to the nominee on the subject of schools funding, telling the Murphy pick that he wants him to play a more commanding role in advocating for a fairer formula.
