Shakeup Source: Bergenfield’s Amatorio in Strong Position for LD38 Assembly Seat

The shakep in Bergen caused by the impending retirement of Senator Bob Gordon (D-38), means that Bergenfield Council President Arvin Amatorio will likely snag an assembly seat.

As a result mostly of youth and vote-getter potential, sources say Assemblyman Joe Lagana (D-38) is in a favored position to grab the seat that Gordon will vacate to go to the Board of Public Utilities (BPU).

His departure from the Assembly will open up the potential for Amatorio to go to Trenton, a source told InsiderNJ.
