Sherrill Gives an LG Update

TRENTON - Ahead of a 45-day Nov. 9th deadline to fill the vacancy, Governor Mikie Sherrill this afternoon addressed her administration's search for a new lieutenant governor.
"It's going well," Sherrill said. "We are vetting people now and going through the process."
Sherrill on September 25 announced her acceptance of the resignation from the LG spot of Dale Caldwell. In conjunction with her release of a report detailing misconduct allegations furnished by an independent investigation, the Governor the night before called for him to resign.
He complied.
"He demonstrated a pattern of behavior that does not meet the standards of this administration," the Governor said of the former LG.
"In my administration we are committed to doing what is right not what is politically expedient," she added.
The Governor at that time promised "to move swiftly to select a new LG."
