Senator Bob Smith to Chair Senate President Steve Sweeney’s NJEDA Task Force Investigation

The Senate Select Committee on Economic Growth Strategies Meeting will hold its first meeting on July 29. Chaired by Senator Bob Smith, the committee was formed in response to the NJEDA tax incentive controversy and subsequent establishment of Governor Phil Murphy’s task force.

Veteran Senator Bob Smith (D-17) will chair the state senate task force formed by state Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3) to examine the Economic Development Authority (EDA).

Sweeney made the announcement in caucus yesterday.

Smith will announce the other members.

But the basic breakdown will be four Democrats and three Republicans, Sweeney said.

It will be a senate committee only.
