A source this afternoon told InsiderNJ that close allies of Democratic State Party Chairman (and Passaic Democratic Party Chairman) John Currie were making “big ask” fundraising calls on behalf of the Democratic candidates in LD39 and LD40 this week “in the name of getting out the suburban vote.”

Trying to secure his speakership in the face of an intra-party effort spearheaded by South Jersey,  Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32) wants to try to snipe a seat in LD39 or LD40 in an effort to build bodies toward his reclaiming the lower house throne.

Irritated by state Senator Kristin Corrado’s (R-40) alliance with Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3),  Currie  has newfound motivation to make Corrado and her running mates work.
