Source: Keep an Eye on the Lambertville Mayor’s Contest

HOBOKEN – The talk here at Stick Romano’s party turned, of all places in a county beset by political war, to Lambertville, a little Hunterdon – not Hudson – County town on the Delaware River that may be the scene of yet another sneak attack on the New Jersey side.

In his 27th year of service, Mayor Dave DelVecchio is up for reelection this year in the June 5th Democratic Primary against Julia Fahl.

“It’s a real race,” an insider told InsiderNJ. Fahl is keeping pace with Delvecchio in fundraising (well, sort of, as it turns out: $20K raised by DelVecchio, $10, 375 COH; compared to $10.7K for Falh, $6K COH, according to ELEC) and there’s a Me2 Movement undercurrent in town.

The May 8th casualties of Long Branch Mayor Adam Schneider in Long Branch and Belleville Mayor Ray Kimble might tell a related story, the source added.

But Fahl hasn’t been in town long enough to have deep-set political relationships, InsiderNJ objected.

“She’s been in town longer than DelVecchio was in town when he became mayor,” the source pointed out.
