Source: RGA Drops $50K on Guadagno in Philly Media Market

As North Jersey Democrats brace for a bigger buy, a Republican source this evening told InsiderNJ that the Republican Governors Association (RGA) put $50,000 behind Kim Guadagno’s gubernatorial campaign in the Philadelphia media market.

A second GOP source contextualized the relatively modest buy by noting that as Virginia tightens, the public polling in New Jersey shows an unwinnable race for Guadagno.

A Monmouth University Poll yesterday showed Democratic Phil Murphy leading by 14 points.

A Democratic source said the North still anticipates a bigger buy over the weekend, insisting that “it’s fluid,” and noting a tightened suburban race in LD38.

But as of right now, the buy by the RGA does not crack the six figure mark and remains regionalized in that part of the state where Guadagno has outpolled Murphy for some time.

Last month, Democratic Party sources in LD3 told InsiderNJ that Guadagno v. Murphy in that district, which Trump won last year, was a coin toss contest.
