Suffolk Poll: Murphy Leads Guadagno by 18 Points in Governor’s Race

Democratic candidate Phil Murphy beats Republican Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno by 18 points in a Suffolk University survey of registered New Jersey voters who say they are likely to go to the polls on Nov. 7.

Of 500 voters polled, 40 percent chose Murphy, a former Goldman Sachs executive, while 22 percent picked Guadagno among the names seven candidates for governor on the ballot.

Less than 4.5 percent of the voters opted for the five other candidates, including Gina Genovese, Seth Kaper-Dale, Matthew Riccardi, Peter Rohman and Vincent Ross.

A significant proportion – 33 percent – said they are undecided.
