Tom Kean Jr.’s Terrible Town Hall

New Jerseyans grill Kean Jr. about his support for Donald Trump and Project 2025This week, vulnerable New Jersey Republican Tom Kean Jr. decided to come out of his hidey-hole only to once again stumble over an answer when voters hammered him for endorsing Donald Trump and his dangerous Project 2025 agenda.

From the townhall:

Question: You have endorsed Trump, does that mean you have endorsed Project 2025 and things like its cuts to Medicare?

Kean Jr.: I have never read Project 2025…

Question: You never read it?

Kean Jr.: No

Question: This is the manifesto of the candidate you support that is running for president, and you’re not interested in the least?

Kean Jr.: As I said, my concerns are the concerns of the people in the district.

This isn’t the first time Kean Jr. has failed to distance himself from Project 2025’s extremism. While the authors of the far-right agenda called the harmful Dobbs decision “just the beginning,” Kean Jr. similarly promised he would fight “every step of the way to protect the unborn from egregious abortion laws.” Since then, he’s voted for bills which chip away at women’s fundamental reproductive freedoms and punish doctors who provide abortions.

DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“New Jerseyans know that if re-elected, Tom Kean Jr. will continue to push through the same anti-abortion, anti-freedom legislation that is spelled out in the extreme Project 2025 manifesto – and that’s why they’ll reject him at the ballot box this November.

  1. As everyone knows, Donald Trump DOES NOT ENDORSE PROJECT 2025!!!!!!! This is just another false narrative being promoted by the Democrat-Communists in New Jersey and in D.C.

Tom Kean, Jr. answered correctly when he said he knew nothing about it. For the Democrat “useful idiots” in the crowd trying to put words into his mouth, it once again shows the false narrative of the Democrats-Communists since they cannot make cogent arguments on the economy, the border invasion, the sexual abuse of our children with the trans agenda, the inflation debacle, and the multiple wars they created.

  2. Absolutely correct. Project 2025 is a story about nothing. Edward Edwards should be ashamed of himself in asking this type of gotcha questions. He should quit journalism and never come back.

There were lot more important topics and items that are on top of folks’ minds. NJ transit issues, security at schools, increasing high school curriculum standards, steps we can take to keep businesses in NJ, increase Greenacres in NJ, ways to reduce state bureaucracy, modernize state IT system, reduce (merge) municipalities and save taxpayers money, etc. Yet this guy chose to ask gotcha question. Should be ashamed of himself.

  3. Project 2025 is alive and well!

As Tim Walz stated, “ when somebody takes the time to draw up a playbook they are gonna use it. “

MEDICARE CUTS AND SOCIAL SECURITY CUTS, I would think, would be of concern and important to
    Tom Kean Jr.’s constituents.

  4. Every politician should know the major tenets of Project 2025, whether Trump endorses it or not. Tom represents my district and I expect him to fully understand who wrote it, why it was written and who would benefit from it. Very simple questions to answer.

  5. I remember Malinowski holding many town halls. One that I attended, I heard him engage in a dialogue with a particularly agitated constituent who thought that the democrats were going to take away gun rights. Malinowski explained his viewpoint and you could see the guy considering his opinion. It was civics class playing out right in front of me.

  6. To ‘Thomas Jefferson’ a simple reply….if you truly believe what you said please step into the light to discuss the situation. Anyone can hide in the shadows and throw out insults. Project 2025 is a published document by the Heritage Foundation – for which I have a copy if you need it. It outlines a specific plan to shift the branches of the federal government placing the most power in the executive branch. And with the recent SC ruling that could lead any unethical president down a path of dictatorship. And I have lived in the NYC area my entire life and know that DJT cannot be taken on his word alone. If you have any doubts about that please reach out to the dozens of AC companies now bankrupt when he pulled out of the casino business and refused to pay them.
