Union Freeholders Award Contract to Raione Coughlin Minchello

At its Jan. 25th meeting, the Union County Freeholder Board awarded a contract to the law firm where Speaker Craig Coughlin (D-19) serves as a partner.

Resolution No. 2018-126 awarded, without competitive bidding, a special counsel contract to Rainone Coughlin Minchello of Woodbridge.

According to the contract notice, the firm is tasked with representing Sergeant Michael J. Patella in the matter entitled Reginal Curry v. UC. et. als. The amount of the contract will not exceed $10,000, according to the public notice.\

An insider noted to InsiderNJ that the county dishes millions in legal work; it’s hard to imagine a $10K contract being a big win for the speaker’s firm.
