Hillside Democratic Committee Chairman Anthony Salters – the successor to the late Charlotte DeFilippo who handled both the local party chairmanship and that of the county – likewise wants the double impact of serving as Hillside boss and countywide daimyo.

“If and when I become the chair, I don’t want to amass power,” Salters told the Plainfield Democrats. “I want to empower you.”

He just wants the chairmanship, and committed himself to the room to not seeking elected office from the perch of chairman.
