NEWARK – South Ward Councilman John Sharpe James wants another tour of duty as the South Ward representative, and to that end occupies a critical position on the Mayor Ras Baraka slate in the May 8th nonpartisan race.
Looking to stare down a challenge by Terence Bankston, James rallied supporters Saturday morning on Hawthorne Avenue before going to a second campaign-related event. InsiderNJ caught up with Councilman James and asked him about his record, the new Murphy Administration and what it means for Newark, and running for reelection with Baraka.
