Weinberg Denounces the ‘Rudeness and Shortsightedness’ of NJEA

The statewide brawl between Democrats who support Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3) and the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA) raged on today, as Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-37) struck back at the union.

In a message on Facebook, the Bergen Democratic senator, one of 16 who signed a letter to NJEA President Marie Blistan in support of Sweeney, said she received an email from her office informing her that the Bergen County Education Association just called to “uninvite” her and any other senator who signed the letter in behalf of Senate President Steve Sweeney.

“I do not have time right now to answer this in depth, but after 25 years of working for them and with them, I can’t say I’m shocked,” Weinberg said. “But I want to assure all of the teachers who might read this post, that I and the caucus I represent will always work to support the children of New Jersey and the wonderful public schools they attend and the great teachers who teach them.

“The rudeness and shortsightedness of the NJEA leadership in spite of the many times I tried to reach out to them on this subject is not really surprising,” the Democratic senator added.

  1. The Senator is right. These fat cat NJEA leaders are only concerned with their own egos.

” Kiss the Ring” they order! Well they have been exposed to both their members( whose money they are wasting without consent) and the general public.
