Wildes Beats Meisner in Englewood Democratic Primary for Mayor

Former Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes defeated Phil Meisner in the local Democratic Primary to succeed Frank Huttle.

Wildes posted a historic 2-1 win off the line. In unofficial counts, Wildes received 2,719 votes to 1,437 for Phil Meisner, with one district still outstanding. Wildes’ ten candidates for Democratic County Committee all won in their races. Meisner called Wildes minutes ago to concede.
“This is a victory for the people of this community who said loud and clear that they want to renew Englewood and move our city forward,” said Wildes. “I thank everyone who supported our campaign and I look forward to working with all residents for the betterment of our city, regardless of who they supported. I thank my wife Amy, my family and my campaign team for their incredible support and I am excited and energized to resume serving the people of this wonderful city.”
