Young Democrats of Atlantic County Announce New President and Vice President

Charity Jeffries

Charity Jeffries will replace Frank Mahoney as president of the Young Democrats of Atlantic County. The leadership switch became official at their August meeting.

Jeffries is the Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo and Assemblyman John Armato. In this role, she serves as the policy and political advisor to both Assemblymen. In addition, Jeffries also serves as the Finance Director for both Assemblymen Mazzeo and Armato.

In addition to her board position with the Young Democrats she also serves as Development Co-Chair for New Leaders Council New Jersey.

“I’m honored to begin serving as President of the Atlantic County Young Democrats. I know how much work Frank has put into building this organization and I’m excited to take it to the next level” Jeffries said. “As I continue to build out my vision for YDAC I want to focus on building membership that can serve as a young, progressive bench in our county.”

Mahoney, who played a key role in founding the organization, has served as President since 2016.

Frank Mahoney will continue being a part of the organization by serving as Vice-Chair. Mahoney recently became a Communication Specialist for the Keystone + Mountain + Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters. The Council covers New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC, Virginia and West Virginia.

“With new responsibilities and traveling required professionally, I do not have the time to organize for YDAC to the level it deserves. Providing our organization with Charity’s leadership at this time will help to meet our goals and grow our membership” Mahoney said. “I look forward to continuing to assist this organization that I helped to found in 2016 through my new role as Vice-Chair.”
