Bramnick Urges Respect for Process in Caldwell Case

State Senator Jon Bramnick (R-21) cautioned people about rushing to judgment in the case of Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell.
Caldwell is under investigation by the Sherrill Administration for alleged inappropriate behavior with women and other ethics violations.
Said Bramnick: "A report without any specific allegations or facts states the lieutenant governor is under investigation. There are calls for his resignation. In today's world, some don't even wait for the specific allegations before they convict the accused. Justice is now second to partisanship."
His comment came after Senate Minority Leader Tony Bucco said the following:
"Considering the complex duties of his position, Lt. Gov. Caldwell should temporarily step down from his duties as Lieutenant Governor. The offices of Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State are far too important to be consumed by this level of distraction while these serious allegations are being investigated.”
