ELEC Distributes Public Matching Funds to Guv Contenders

The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) has approved $1.7 million in public matching funds for two gubernatorial nominees in the 2025 general election.

It is the seventh round of disbursements from the state’s Gubernatorial Public Financing Program for the general election. The cumulative total is $18.5 million.

Qualified candidates may file additional submissions for public matching funds through April 7, 2026.
September 2, 2025 was the deadline for general election candidates to qualify for participation in the Gubernatorial Public Financing Program. Ciattarelli and Sherrill were the only candidates who qualified for funding under the program.
