ELEC Reports Public Matching Funds for Sherrill, Ciattarelli

As the contest accelerates toward Nov. 4th, Democratic gubernatorial nominee Mikie Sherrill is the first to hit the 100% public match mark in her showdown with Republican Jack Ciattarelli.
The New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) has approved $1.6 million in public matching funds for two gubernatorial nominees in the 2025 general election.
It is the 10th round of disbursements from the state’s Gubernatorial Public Financing Program for the general election. The cumulative total is $24.4 million.
Here's the breakdown:

Qualified candidates may file additional submissions for public matching funds through April 7, 2026.
September 2, 2025 was the deadline for general election candidates to qualify for participation in the Gubernatorial Public Financing Program. Ciattarelli and Sherrill were the only candidates who qualified for funding under the program.

General election candidates are eligible this year for up to $12.5 million in public funds. In exchange, other than a few exceptions, they must limit their total general spending to $18.5 million.
