Governor Murphy Endorses Brendan Gill for Congress

Today, Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill, candidate for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District, announced Governor Murphy’s endorsement of his campaign for Congress.
“As Mikie heads to Trenton, we need a new leader to keep up the fight against Donald Trump and his allies in Congress,” said Governor Murphy. “For me, that’s Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill. Brendan has spent his career getting results – fighting for progressive values and helping to elect Democrats across New Jersey including me. Now, we need Brendan in DC to help lower costs, complete the Gateway Program, and protect our freedoms.”
“I am so honored to have Governor Murphy’s support for my campaign for Congress,” said Brendan Gill. “I have committed my life to electing and empowering some of our nation’s most consequential Democrats, and I am proud to have been a part of the team that elected a progressive leader like Governor Murphy who in his eight years moved our state forward making it stronger and fairer for everyone.”
Brendan Gill is an Essex County Commissioner, lifelong New Jerseyan, and former senior adviser to Governor Phil Murphy, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Frank Lautenberg, and Congressman Bill Pascrell. A proud Montclair native, Gill has spent his career fighting for working families, quality public education, and safe, vibrant communities. He is running for Congress in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District to continue that fight in Washington.
