Hamawy Raises over $215K for CD-12 Campaign

Today, Dr. Adam Hamawy announced that he has raised over $215,000 in his first weekend as a candidate for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District seat.

“We’re thrilled to see the outpouring of support from our community just days after our campaign launch – a clear reflection of the excitement behind Dr. Hamawy’s bold candidacy,” said Hebah Kassem, Campaign Manager, Hamawy for New Jersey. “We’re confident that our momentum will only continue to build as we connect with voters across the district. New Jerseyans are demanding a new kind of leadership that puts working people first, and Dr. Hamawy is that leader.”

The fundraising announcement comes less than a week after Hamawy launched his campaign for Congress. On Thursday evening, Hamawy gathered with friends, family, and members of the community to celebrate his campaign launch in South Brunswick. Just one day after launching his campaign, he received the endorsement of U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, the first sitting Member of Congress to endorse in the race.

Hamawy served as a combat trauma surgeon and became a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, working with medical teams in combat and disaster zones like Iraq and Haiti and saving hundreds of lives. Since completing his service, Hamawy has spent the last decade building a successful medical practice in the Princeton area, while also dedicating more than 30 years volunteering to treat patients in overwhelmed hospitals, war zones, and disaster areas at home and abroad. Hamawy attended the State of the Union address last year as a guest of Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman.
