Governor Sherrill Joins Multistate Alliances to Drive Coordinated Action on Climate, Public Health, and Reproductive Care

“I’m proud to join a strong coalition of states across the country to tackle some of the most pressing challenges we face — protecting reproductive care, strengthening public health, and accelerating our clean energy transition,” said Governor Mikie Sherrill. “As Trump creates chaos in Washington, governors are on the front lines fighting back and getting results. Working together — from policymaking and litigation to communications — these alliances will help New Jersey respond more swiftly, lower costs for families by expanding our clean energy supply and improving public health outcomes, and extend our impact far beyond state lines.”

U.S. Climate Alliance 

The U.S. Climate Alliance is a bipartisan coalition of 24 governors committed to securing America’s net-zero future through state-led, high-impact climate action. Through technical, analytical, policy, and capacity assistance, the Alliance helps members scale ambitious, equitable climate solutions such as accelerating clean energy deployment.

Together, Alliance states commit to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 50–52% by 2030, achieving net-zero no later than 2050, and transparently tracking progress through global climate partnerships.

Governors Public Health Alliance 

The Governors Public Health Alliance (PHA) is a nonpartisan coalition of 15 governors working together to strengthen public health systems, coordinate preparedness, and improve health equity nationwide.

The Alliance facilitates cross-state collaboration, data sharing, and joint planning to help states detect and contain health threats faster, align emergency responses, and advance shared public health standards. Member states also collaborate on technical and regulatory issues (e.g., vaccine procurement, health standards), explore cross-border data exchanges, and partner with national and global health organizations to strengthen readiness and resilience.

Reproductive Freedom Alliance 

The Reproductive Freedom Alliance (RFA) is a nonpartisan coalition of 23 governors working together to protect and expand reproductive freedom. The Alliance connects governors’ offices with legal, policy, and communications experts to strengthen access to care, share best practices, and coordinate strategies in a rapidly changing federal landscape.

Member states collaborate on innovative legal frameworks, model legislation, strategic communications, and rapid-response support to advance a unified agenda and ensure reproductive rights remain protected nationwide.
