Honoring Our New Jersey Veterans

Happy Veterans Day to all our veterans out there. Thank you for your service to our country, the United States of America.

God bless all of you.

From Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill:

"Wishing a happy Veterans Day to every American who's kept us safe at home and defended our democracy overseas. It’s an honor to have served our nation, and I’m indebted to every veteran who paved the path forward with their service — thank you."

Governor-elect Sherrill today attended a Veterans Day Ceremony in Livingston to honor the generations of veterans from New Jersey and across the country who have served our nation, risking their lives to keep us safe at home and defend our democracy overseas.

“On Veterans Day, and all year long, it’s critical that we continue to share the stories of those who served and the sacrifices they made to protect the rights and freedoms we cherish," said Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill. "Throughout my career, I have fought to ensure our veterans have the resources they need — and that won’t change when I get to Trenton. As governor, I will champion the new Department of Veterans Affairs and make sure that veterans have access to affordable and safe housing, high-quality mental and physical healthcare, and workforce training and small business support. In a Sherrill-Caldwell administration, our veterans will always have a seat at the table."

Said former state Senator Bernie Kenny, a U.S. Navy veteran:

"I would urge all young men and women to consider serving their beloved country. It is a generational act of gratitude and honor which they will never regret."
