Caba Formally Jumps into the Race in Perth Amboy

Perth Amboy Councilman Helmin Caba – chair of the local Democratic Party – didn’t surprise anyone today when he formally filed take a run at incumbent Mayor Wilda Diaz.

At 3 pm. today, Caba and his “2020 Vision” running mates filed petitions with the City Clerk containing 1,500 signatures to be put on the Nov. 3rd ballot for Mayor and two City Council seats.

Another rival, attorney Joseph B. Vas, promptly took a shot here.

I am proud to say our campaign actually collected more than 3,000 signatures, or over 1,000 signatures apiece, on our nomination petitions. That clearly indicates many people are eager for new, reliable leadership in City Hall and they are confident that Rose, BJ and I are the right choices to address our city’s most challenging issues,” said Caba.
