Un Uphill Trudge – to Say the Least – for Yoon in LD37

Yoon

Intrigued by the prospect of an open Assembly seat in LD37, the allies of Fort Lee Councilman Paul Yoon may have some difficulty convincing fellow Democrats ahead of a convention that he should represent the party.

Unlike Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, who opted against backing the reelection of Republican Governor Chris Christie and suffered a ludicrous, scandalous attempt at repercussions with Bridegate, Yoon went along for the ride and backed Christie, who limped out of office with an approval rating of %16.

The councilman – a Florio Perrucci attorney – would be an especially audacious party choice for Democrats in light of the role retiring Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg (D-37) played in exposing the scandal.
