InsiderNJ Interview with Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi

FLEMINGTON - Hunterdon County Clerk Mary Melfi is running "like I'm chased by a pack of wolves," she tells InsiderNJ on the day prior to the beginning of early voting, at the heart of the county she has served for 20 years.

The Republican incumbent dives into the issues of the day and reminds voters why they should back her in this county roiled in part by a competitive CD-7 contest featuring U.S. Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. and his opponent, Rebecca Bennett.

Melfi has a challenge from Caitlin Giles-McCormick, who previously served as the Flemington Borough Council President.

Serving in her fifth five-year term as County Clerk, North Hunterdon Regional High School grad Melfi has been a resident of Hunterdon County for over 40 years.  She formerly served on the Flemington Borough Council from 1994-2006 and the Planning Board from 1993-2018. In addition to her duties as clerk, she serves as the Vice President of the 200 Hunterdon Club of Hunterdon County.
