Jackson to Kemp: Declare Opposition to ANY Effort to Suspend Willis
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp acknowledged that Joe Biden – not Donald Trump – won the 2020 election in the Peach State.
Now, amid Republican efforts to discredit – and possibly suspend or remove – Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis – Bishop Reginald Jackson wants the GOP battleground state governor to unequivocally oppose such efforts.
Willis this month prevailed on a grand jury to announce election interference charges against Trump, the former Republican President who refused to admit that Biden beat him and tried to get the Georgia Secretary of State to “find” votes that didn’t exist.
In the aftermath of those charges, “the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee wants to open a congressional investigation into Willis as soon as Thursday, a source tells CNN – the same day former President Donald Trump is slated to surrender at the county jail after being charged for participating in schemes to meddle with Georgia’s 2020 election results.
“The committee is expected to ask Willis whether she was coordinating with the Justice Department, which has indicted Trump twice in two separate cases, or used federal dollars to complete her investigation that culminated in the fourth indictment of Trump, the source added. The anticipated questions from Republicans about whether Willis used federal funding in her state-level investigation mirrors the same line of inquiry that Republicans used to probe Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who indicted Trump in New York for falsifying business records to cover up an alleged hush money scheme.”
Yesterday, Bishop Jackson, formerly of Essex County, New Jersey, spoke at a “Call to Conscience” prayer vigil and rally held in downtown Atlanta in support of Willis, her staff and the grand jurors in the pursuit of justice.
“Republicans are running interference for Trump,” Jackson told InsiderNJ. “We are speaking out on behalf of District Attorney Willis in light of the fact that [Florida Governor Ron] DeSantis suspended two district attorneys for being “too lenient with criminals.”
The moves by Santis, according to Politico, “drew sharp criticism from the target of the suspension — State Attorney Monique Worrell — as well as Democrats, who called DeSantis a “dictator” and said his actions were designed to draw attention to his struggling presidential campaign.”
Jackson and his allies want to make sure their Georgia governor does not try to imitate DeSantis by going after Willis to help Trump.
“The governor already came out and said Georgia’s election was not stolen,” said Jackson. “Now the governor needs to announce he will not support any effort to suspend this district attorney.”
Jackson also wants the governor to denounce efforts in the House targeting the Fulton County prosecutor.
“I’m going to advise Fani Willis to not even participate [if they subpoena her],” the bishop told InsiderNJ. “Republicans are alleging that she treated Trump unfairly. It really lets you know how bad off this country is right now. Republicans call themselves the party of law and order but look at the way they are covering for someone who broke the law. If this were a Democrat who had denied the outcome of the election and tried to hold onto power like he did, Republicans would be on this like hawks.
“I think people in New Jersey need to know that this is not just a Georgia problem – this is a national problem. Our justice system is under attack.”
Willis should tell Gym Jordan to go kick rocks, just like Alvin Bragg did.
Willis could tell Jordan that, but then she’ll be subpoenaed. If she doesn’t show up, she’ll find herself behind bars when the House Sergeant of Arms goes and arrests her for Contempt of Congress. Contempt of Congress is a 5-year jail sentence.
As for Bishop Jackson, he’s from New Jersey. That’s all we need to know. Another corrupt player in the New Jersey government “mafia”. Now, he’s doing it in Georgia. Jackson has no say in any of these matters, because, first he’s a Democrat, and second, he has no standing to make any arguments to interfere with a Presidential election, and thirdly, he is now interposing himself into an alleged criminal case, whereby he is now tampering with the case and tampering with witnesses.
