CD3 Rep. Andy Kim declared victory tonight in the Democratic primary, handily defeating challenger Rueven Hendler.

“It was a humbling experience taking my family to vote this morning before dropping my kids off at school. This was the 5th time my name was on a ballot and I’ve taken my little boys every time to try and instill in them the responsibility to our democracy as citizens,” said Congressman Kim. “These are tough times for our nation, and I believe these challenges call on all of us to earnestly work together to build unity. I am ready to roll up my sleeves to build a diverse and strong coalition to do this hard work for this community and country that has given me and my family so much.”

End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller released the following statement on the primary election results in NJ-03:

“Congratulations to Congressman Andy Kim on his primary election victory tonight. Throughout his time in Congress, Congressman Kim has been a champion of making government work for the people of New Jersey. He’s never accepted a single cent from corporate PACs, he’s pushed back against corporate greed by fighting to lower healthcare and gas prices, and he’s spoken out against attacks on our freedom to vote. We couldn’t be more proud to support Congressman Kim and look forward to re-electing him this November.”
