Bill Knox told InsiderNJ this morning that he had aborted a planned CD7 announcement this week.

“There are too many people in the race, and we need to be unified,” said the Democrat from Basking Ridge.

Knox had lunch a couple of weeks ago with former Assistant Secretary of State Tom Malinowski, liked him, and now supports him.

“I told Tom I’ll do whatever I can to help him financially,” said Knox, a wealth management specialist by trade.

“We need to beat Leonard Lance,” the would-be candidate added, referring to incumbent U.S. Rep. Lance (R-7).
