Marc Chaaban Suspends Campaign for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District

Today, Marc Chaaban announced the suspension of his campaign for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District. Since entering the race three weeks ago, Marc has raised over $120,000 from close to 1,000 grassroots donors across New Jersey and the country. On Monday, he filed for ballot access with 850 signatures, far over the 500 signature threshold. On the campaign trail, Marc called for a new generation of leadership divorced from corruption and corporate PAC money — leadership that is actually able to stand up to Trump.
“I launched this campaign because I believe New Jerseyans deserve better than a politics of corruption, compromise, and constant capitulation to Donald Trump,” said Marc Chaaban. “Our goal was never about one person, but about creating a movement and a home for those of us who have felt betrayed over and over again by those in power. Unfortunately, movements take time, resources, and organizing to build — and with just weeks until vote-by-mail ballots go out, the compressed timeline of this special election simply doesn’t afford the runway we need to win.”
“It was an honor to meet so many of my neighbors — especially other young people — who were inspired by this campaign. Young people must have a place in our democracy. Without leaders willing to fight, we are the generation that will live with the consequences of a fading democracy, a hollowed out American Dream, and failed progress on climate change. The stakes have never been higher, and our district deserves representation that will fight for a better future for all of us.”
