HEIGHTS UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL PREPARES FOR SUSPENSION OF EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SERVICES
Partnership with Alliance Health will provide continued healthcare services to Heights community
Heights University Hospital (HUH), in anticipation of suspending Emergency Department services on March 14, 2026 at 7:30 pm, will continue to provide various community health services in the Jersey City Heights region. In addition, local healthcare providers will remain available to delivery care to the Heights community.
Alliance Community Healthcare (ACHI), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), has entered into a partnership with HRH to provide a broad range of healthcare services to the Heights community. ACHI will utilize space in HRH's Heights Medical Office Building (MOB) at 142 Palisade Avenue in the near future, expanding access to primary and preventive care for area residents. Alliance Community Healthcare has also welcomed several of HRH's residents, OB fellows, and two Neighborhood Health Physicians, ensuring continuity of care and preserving the provider relationships that Height's residents depend on. This partnership will provide additional hours and access to medical professionals to this community.
HRH will also continue to offer additional a number of healthcare options at the Heights MOB, and place an ambulance outside of the Emergency Department for two weeks following the suspension of services. The ambulance will transport patients requiring emergency care to other facilities.
Additionally, HRH will provide various medical services on the HRH Foundation Mobile Health Unit in partnership with various community groups in Jersey City over the coming months.
