Mironov Says Murphy Should have his Chair, and Murphy Wants Currie

Mayor Janice S. Mironov, Mercer County Democratic chairperson, today endorsed Governor Phil Murphy’s choice for party chair. She released the following statement:

“All of Mercer County has been 200% focused on our November 5 elections, resulting in overwhelmingly successful exciting victories in every Mercer Democratic Party race, reflected in huge wins for Hamilton Township Mayor and Council, as well as a significant pick-up in Hopewell Township, retaining all County offices, and great margins for our three Assembly districts (D-14, D-15, D-16), noteworthy in Princeton for District 16.

“The timing is now right to address the future state leadership of the Democratic Party in New Jersey. We will be supporting the longstanding practice that the Governor have his choice as the Chairperson of the state party.  Governor Murphy shares many of our important core values and has been accessible and energetic in his support of our candidates.  The Mercer County Democratic State Committee Members are totally unified in this position.

“We look forward to working together in unity with our fellow Democrats throughout the state to ensure a vibrant and effective Democratic Party which reflects open and fair communications, responsive voter programs and messaging, and an inclusive party – to expand our party base and build for future Democratic victories.”

On Sunday, Murphy told InsiderNJ, “John Currie’s my guy.”
