New Jersey Retired Police and Firemen's Association Backs Ciattarelli

The New Jersey Retired Police and Firemen's Association today officially endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for Governor over Democrat Mikie Sherrill.

The association represents thousands of retired law enforcement officers and firefighters who spent their careers protecting New Jersey communities, and now advocates for the pension benefits and welfare of those who served on the front lines of public safety.

"New Jersey Retired Police and Firemen's Association voted to endorse Jack Ciattarelli for Governor of New Jersey. We weighed the positions of both candidates and it was clear to us that
Jack was the best candidate for our retirees and the best candidate for the people of New Jersey," said Ron DiGiovanni, President of the association. “The state budget ballooned from $37 billion to $58 billion under eight years of Democratic control, yet not one dollar went to make right with the people who protected our families. The status quo isn’t working for our retirees, but Ciattarelli has pledged to fix this betrayal and make the changes to reinstate COLA.”

The endorsement centers on a stark reality: "retired police and firefighters haven't received a cost-of-living adjustment since 2011, while their purchasing power has been decimated by inflation caused by the spending packages Mikie Sherrill voted for in Congress under President Biden."
