The Piscataway Progressive Democratic Organization today endorsed Democratic Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill for Governor of New Jersey. Rep. Mikie Sherrill has consistently demonstrated the values we believe in: fairness, integrity, and a commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive future for all New Jerseyans. She will be a Governor who fights for our families and our future, including around important issues like healthcare, abortion rights, quality public education, and a sustainable environment. Her record reflects both courage and compassion—qualities that New Jersey needs in its next governor. We also know she will stand up to Trump and his MAGA agenda.

Our organization was founded on the principles of grassroots power and community organizing. We believe that when leaders listen to the most impacted people our democracy thrives. We know that lasting change begins with engaged residents, and Rep. Sherrill has respected and uplifted the voices of local communities. She has the vision, energy, and experience to unite New Jersey and move us forward together.

While we may not agree on every issue, we know that Rep. Sherrill will give us space and time to discuss and debate policies. We will continue to uplift key concerns of our neighbors, like the Immigrant Trust Act and community police review boards. These important issues are central to the safety and wellbeing of so many NJ residents, and we look forward to continuing a robust dialogue with Rep. Sherrill.
