More than 5,000 Marchers to Join Elected Officials to Call for Reuniting Families Separated by CBP, ICE, and Ending Detention at the Border and In New Jersey
Senator Menendez, Senator Booker, First Lady Tammy Murphy to Join Marchers in call for reuniting families and ending all New Jersey resources towards ICE and CBP detention and deportation
NEWARK, NJ (June 30, 2018) – On Saturday, June 30th thousands of protestors and advocates will join elected officials in Newark to demand reuniting all families separated by ICE And CBP at the border and within New Jersey. The march will begin at 11am in front of Newark City Hall ( 920 Broad Street). Marchers will call on NJ state elected officials to stand up to protect immigrant families in New Jersey by ensuring the state does not aid in the mass deportation efforts of the Trump administration, that all immigrants have access to legal counsel and may live, drive and study safely in New Jersey.
Speakers will include immigrant families and children who have experienced detention and family separation, and elected officials including Senator Menendez, Senator Booker, and First Lady Tammy Murphy.
WHAT: Families Belong Together NJ March – Not in Cages
WHERE: March begins at Newark City Hall- 920 Broad St, Newark, New Jersey 07102 and continues to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Center on 970 Broad Street.
