COASTAL STORM EXPECTED TO BRING COASTAL FLOODING
Increased Flooding During Impending Coastal Storm

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – OCTOBER 9, 2019

The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory from Thursday afternoon
through Friday evening with heavy winds expected. Moderate tidal flooding is expected on
Thursday Oct. 10, 2019 at 5pm, Friday Oct. 11, 2019 at 5am and again on Friday Oct. 11, 2019 at
6pm. Please be advised that heavy winds, rain, and high tides may lead to increased flooding in
flood prone or low-lying areas of the City.

It is recommended that residents who live in flood prone areas take proper precautions. The
New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is offering free parking to
Atlantic City residents in the Wave Parking Garage, from 3:00 pm on Thursday Oct. 10, 2019
through Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. The Wave Parking Garage is located at 2200 Fairmount
Avenue between Christopher Columbus Boulevard and Mississippi Avenue.

Parking will only be permitted on the second (2nd) floor and above during this time. Atlantic City
residents will be required to show proof of residency and parking will be validated at the gate
upon departure. Parking personnel will be on duty to assist residents.

The City of Atlantic City and the Office of Emergency Management want to remind residents
that some roadways may be closed due to flooding. It is recommended that motorists avoid
both Route 30 & Route 40 when the roadways are flooded. The Atlantic City Expressway is the
recommended artery leading into and out of the City.
