Acting Governor Sheila Oliver Directs the Lowering of U.S. and New Jersey Flags in Honor of Senator Anthony R. Bucco

TRENTON – Today, Acting Governor Sheila Oliver signed Executive Order No. 86, ordering U.S. and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff on Friday, September 20, 2019, to honor the life of Senator Anthony R. Bucco. Senator Bucco represented New Jersey’s 25th District in the State Senate for over 21 years, previously serving the district as an Assemblyman. He passed away at the age of 81 on Monday, September 16, 2019.

“Senator Anthony Bucco was a class act and served the residents of Morris County and New Jersey with dignity and honor,” said Acting Governor Sheila Oliver. “He gave over 41 years of public service to his town, district, and state. Our sympathies are with his wife, Helene Jane, his son, Assemblyman Anthony Bucco, and his family in this difficult time.”
