AFSCME New Jersey Endorses Reed Gusciora for Mayor of Trenton
Trenton, NJ – AFSCME NJ today announced the endorsement of candidate Reed Gusciora for Mayor of Trenton in the upcoming election.
“We are very happy to endorse Reed Gusciora in this race,” said AFSCME New Jersey Executive Director, Steve Tully. “During 22 years in the New Jersey General Assembly, Reed fought for working families across New Jersey. As a member of the labor committee, Gusciora has a proven record of success in fighting for public employees. He will stand with Trentonians to fight for their wages, stand up to privatization and protect their right to collectively bargain.”
Gusciora said he is honored to receive AFSCME New Jersey’s endorsement and vowed to stand with Trenton’s public workers.
“I am gratified to receive the endorsement from AFSCME New Jersey, one of the largest public employees unions in the state,” Gusciora said. “Trentonians deserve a mayor who will be on their side. I pledge to continue to work with city workers to obtain quality staffing levels that will be responsive to city residents’ needs. Our Capital City has many challenges, but we succeed by collectively addressing citizens’ concerns. I am proud to have city workers in my corner.”
Reed Gusciora faces Paul Perez in the election for Mayor of Trenton, which will be held June 12th.
