Ahead of Warren, Linda Weber’s Allies Issue Letter of Support in CD7
Democratic primaries are about two things: identifying the candidate who best represents Democratic voters and their values and choosing the candidate who is in the best position to win the general election. This second consideration is especially important this year, when Democratic enthusiasm is at an all-time high and we have a rare opportunity to flip seats in typically safe Republican districts.
We cannot afford to miss this chance. That’s why we are supporting Linda Weber. Linda understands the issues that matter to our district, spent a career doing what’s right, has a broad network of grassroots support and can harness the Democratic energy that flipped seats across the country last November.
Linda Weber is smart, progressive, and knowledgeable about the issues that affect CD7. As a financial expert, she is the only person in this race who knows first-hand how the Republican tax plan is hurting hard-working New Jerseyans, and she understands the importance of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as a check on big banks run amok.
Linda also has the guts to stand up for her progressive values. She isn’t going to Washington just to get along. She is running to shake things up and stand up for what is right. Fighting for equal rights and equal pay is not a talking point for Linda, she has been part of that fight her whole life. It’s not only that she was so often the only woman in the room; it’s that she‘s always fought for what is right, even when the odds were stacked against her.
As a long-time resident of Berkeley Heights, she chose to raise her kids here. And, she served this district long before she ever thought about running for Congress, as PTO president, as a board member of the American Cancer Society in New Jersey and as five-time Chair of the Relay for Life. That’s why she has the most grassroots support of any candidate in this race. She has hundreds of grassroots supporters and has received more than 700 donations from within the district. Her supporters are passionate and involved, and they will sway the election.
It’s clear: Linda Weber is the best candidate for our district and the best candidate to defeat Lance. She is a life-long progressive who understands the issues that matter most to voters. She has lived in the district for years, forming connections and building friendships that we now see translated into massive grassroots support for her campaign. And she is a woman who can capture the energy driving Democratic successes around the country.
That’s why we stand with her, and why we hope you will join us in supporting her.
It’s time to make a real change in Congress.
