Amalgamated Transit Union Endorses Rebecca Bennett for Congress
SOMERVILLE, NJ — The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) endorsed Rebecca Bennett for Congress because of her commitment to supporting transit workers and investing in New Jersey’s aging infrastructure.
“As a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot and aircraft commander, Rebecca Bennett knows what it means to serve and lead. A mom to two young girls, she understands the challenges facing workers, including transit workers and their families in New Jersey’s 7th District in my home state. The ATU is proud to endorse Rebecca Bennett. A next-generation candidate, we will be mobilizing to send Rebecca Bennett to Congress in this key race to flip the House of Representatives in November,” said ATU International President John Costa.
“I am so excited to have ATU as part of the team as we work to take back NJ-07 in November. Union workers are the backbone of the Garden State and I am ready to fight to invest in the people who keep our state moving. Together, we’ll focus on bringing home our federal tax dollars to make much-needed upgrades for our roads, buses, and rail,” said Rebecca Bennett.
Rebecca Bennett, Democratic Nominee for Congress in NJ-07, is a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, officer in the Air National Guard, healthcare leader, and mom of two. Rebecca served in the Navy for over a decade as a helicopter pilot and aircraft commander. After serving her country for over fifteen years in the military and making waves in healthcare innovation, Rebecca is running to unseat Tom Kean, Jr. to build a better future for our community. As a mom to two young girls, Rebecca understands first-hand the challenges of balancing work & family while navigating inflation and the rising cost of living.
