Amoroso, Woolley Announce 10 Days of Full Funding Petition Drive Initiative

Ocean Township, NJ — Legislative District 11 General Assembly candidates Mike Amoroso and Matt Woolley announced today their 10 Days of Full Funding petition drive to pressure Governor Murphy and the Democrat-controlled legislature to restore full funding to the ten LD11 school districts projected to lose a combined $65 million by 2025.

Every day for the next 10 business days, affected students, educators, parents and residents will have the opportunity to sign our petition to express their opposition to these school funding cuts.

“Governor Murphy and the Democrat-controlled legislature will only act if pressured by their constituents. This is a quick and direct way for those negatively impacted by funding cuts to make their voices heard,” said Woolley.

In Fiscal Year 2020 alone, Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Deal, Eatontown, Freehold Regional, Monmouth Regional, Neptune City, Neptune Township, Ocean Township and Tinton Falls will be hit with $10 million in cuts.

Amoroso continued, “When staff and programs are cut, students and teachers are hurt, and the quality of education drops. We must restore full funding to our affected school districts.”

Interested signers can find the petition here: https://mailchi.mp/62d1f62e85ff/ld11schoolfunding. The petition can also be accessed on the Mike Amoroso & Matt Woolley for Assembly Facebook page: www.facebook.com/LD11NJ. While the petition drive is bannered as a ten day initiative, signatures will continue to be accepted until funding is restored.

Mike Amoroso of Freehold Township and Matt Woolley of Ocean Township will put students’ needs first and fight to restore school funding to LD11 schools.
