AMOROSO AND WOOLLEY: DOWNEY AND HOUGHTALING’S “NEGLIGENT” SILENCE ON ISSUES “ENDLESS & EMBARRASSING”

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. – “Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey continue to be silent in
every moment that matters. The people of LD-11 want leadership, and instead they are negligent
in their refusal to meaningfully address any issue not mentioned ontheir cue cards from their
handlers,” said Matt Woolley.

● Last month, General Majority PAC , a Democrat-controlled committee, darkened the
face of a Republican candidate on a mail piece attacking him. Governor Murphy,
Lieutenant Governor Oliver, Democrat State Party Chairman John Currie and a parade of
other Democrats condemned it immediately.

Houghtaling and Downey were silent.

Coincidentally, General Majority PAC has spent more than $1.1 million putting
Houghtaling and Downey in office, and keeping them there, in the last few campaign
cycles.

● Last year, Houghtaling and Downey voted for Senate Bill 2, which stripped almost $65
million in funding from LD-11 school districts over the next few years. School districts
across LD-11 are scrambling to make up the difference, and property taxes may increase
as a result.

Houghtaling and Downey are silent.

Also coincidentally, much of that $65 million is being redirected to schools in South
Jersey—the political territory of prominent Democratic Donald Norcross, who controls
General Majority PAC .

● This month, Moira Nelson, Democrat candidate for Monmouth County Freeholder—who
appears with Houghtaling and Downey on the ballot—was revealed to have said
appalling things about law enforcement officers.

Houghtaling and Downey have been and remain silent.

The PBA-endorsed Freeholder Director called on them to say
something—anything—to defend Monmouth County law enforcement officers from
the disparagement coming from their own ticket.

Woolley’s running mate, Mike Amoroso, added: “Their silence is endless and embarrassing.
Unfortunately, in this district, all you need to do is follow the money. It leads right back to the
South Jersey special interests, who are really pulling the strings that control our opponents.”
