Amy DeGise Hits Stack for Bracketing with Menendez Opponent in WNY, asks: “Is this a Blunder or a Veiled Threat?”

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Brian Stack is proving once again that he can’t be trusted to lead the Hudson County Democratic Party by deliberately bracketing his candidates for county committee in West New York with a candidate running against Senator Bob Menendez, charges Amy DeGise, who is running against Stack to lead the county party.

“Stack’s people are passing out literature and lots of signs urging people to vote Column B with no mention of Senator Menendez, who is running on Column A,” says DeGise. “They could very easily be telling people to vote for both Menendez and their candidates, but they are not. Stack could be running his slate on Column C but instead he deliberately choose to run on the same column as an anti-Menendez candidate.”

DeGise says that the decision by Stack is either a blunder, or a veiled threat. “Given Stack’s past history of selling out the Democratic Party and his own District 33 constituents, we can’t take a chance on him also selling out Bob Menendez for the right price if he becomes the party Chairman,” she adds.

DeGise is referring to Stack’s controversial support of Republican Governor Chris Christie and his attacks on Democratic Candidate Barbara Buono that led Buono to call him a “misogynistic thug” in a recent social media post. Stack is also under fire for $150 million in state transitional aid for property tax relief for Union City and nothing for Weehawken, Jersey City and Hoboken which he also represents.

“The bottom line is that Stack is too erratic and untrustworthy to lead our county party,” says DeGise.
