Statewide Event for Public Officials, Planners, Advocates, Activists, and Community Organizers to Feature Policy Solutions, Advocacy Successes, and Best Practices for Improving Public Health, Economic Growth, and Social Justice through Active Transportation Planning

BACKGROUND: The NJ Bike & Walk Summit, organized by the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition (NJBWC), is the state’s annual gathering of biking & walking advocates, community leaders, city and suburban planners, environmental and green team members, cycling enthusiasts, bike shop owners, bicycle and walking club members, recreational riders, health and wellness experts, community policy makers, traffic engineers, state legislators and those interested in the many benefits of walking and biking.
Keynote speaker for the event is Equiticity President & CEO Oboi Reed, a White House and USDOT Transportation Champion of Change Awardee, as well as a Co-founder and President & CEO of Slow Roll Chicago. Advocate of the Year Awards will be presented to state Senators Nia Gill and Steven Oroho and Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro. The Asbury Park Complete Streets Coalition will receive the organizational Advocate of the Year Award.
Attendees will have the opportunity to become aware of various public funding sources and have the ability to network, collaborate, and identify and develop mutually beneficial relationships that can help communities become more livable and economically vibrant through bicycle and pedestrian safety and infrastructure initiatives.
