Teamsters Joint Council 73 is Latest Union to Back Mayor Fulop and Council slate
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Teamsters Joint Council 73 (Springfield, NJ), a Union PAC representing over 50,000 New Jersey workers though different Teamsters Local Union affiliates, is endorsing Mayor Steven Fulop and his City Council slate. Joint Council 73 is made up of:

With 3,600 Teamsters that live in Jersey City, Joint Council 73 is the latest powerful labor organization to endorse Team Fulop. Citing the Mayor’s commitment to enacting policies that lift up working families and give them a fair chance to succeed, the Teamsters join the Hotel Trades Council and the Amalgamated Transit Union in backing Team Fulop.
“We are proud to endorse Mayor Fulop and his Slate in this upcoming Election,” stated Alphonse Rispoli, Jr., President of Joint Council 73. “Mayor Fulop has always answered our calls and has always supported Joint Council 73 and our affiliate locals. The Joint Council 73 Executive Board will be working with our International Brotherhood Teamsters Political Coordinators and our affiliate locals to GET OUT THE VOTE.”
In addition to prominent labor unions, Mayor Fulop has also won the endorsement of Hudson County Democratic leaders like Rep. Albio Sires, as well as many of the most prominent African American officials in Jersey City. The Mayor is running for his third term alongside Council members Joyce Watterman, Daniel Rivera, Denise Ridley, Mira Prinz-Arey, Rich Boggiano, Yousef Saleh and Jermaine Robinson, as well as Council at-Large candidate Amy DeGise and Ward E Council candidate Jake Hudnut.
“Organized labor has always been the backbone of the Democratic Party and a good union job can be the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and helping more Jersey City residents join the middle class,” said Mayor Fulop. “I’ve always been committed to working with unions like Teamsters Joint Council 73 that are looking out for working families and I’m proud to receive their endorsement today and their support in this upcoming election.”
