Ashton Burrell and Edison Job Corps Academy will partner to bring awareness to Gun Violence

September 26, 2019 – (New Jersey) Ashton Burrell’s Shoot Hoops Not Guns is back for another impactful event to raise awareness of gun violence on Thursday October 3, 2019. This year alone there have been 41,603 reported gun related incidents and 11,056 fatalities in the USA according to the Gun Violence Archive. Award winning humanitarian and founder of LIVE (Life in Visions of Evolutions) Mentorship Ashton Burrell along with Edison Job Corp have come together in support of putting a stop to senseless gun violence. “The event brings awareness on the effects of gun violence to not just the victims but everyone else who suffers with them. The victim’s family has to live without them and the killer’s family without them in most instances in my community. When this happens its generations that are destroyed by one simple mistake. We also provide alternatives to guns at the game by bringing in We Nova to provide on the spot career development. Sometimes people make the wrong mistakes with guns when they have too much time on their hand, so we want to just provide as many different outlooks on life to the community as possible!” says Burrell. The daytime event will provide education on gun violence and also remember those who have passed away from senseless gun violence. There will also be surprise special guests and community leaders in attendance to participate and support the players. The Edison Job Corps is proud to host this event for the trainees currently enrolled in the program. This event is exclusively for the Job Corps Trainees who are dedicated to serving their community in support of taking a stand against gun violence.
