Assemblywoman Stanfield, Assemblyman Peters Holding Diaper Drive for mothers in need
LUMBERTON – Assemblywoman Jean Stanfield and Assemblyman Ryan Peters are hosting a Diaper Drive during the month of February to assist the Burlington County Women, Infant and Children’s mission of serving low-income families.
“While families struggle with food insecurity and paying rent, it is often forgotten that diapers are an expensive necessity for mothers and their babies,” Stanfield commented. “We can make a big difference in these women and children’s lives if we come together as a community and take this pressure off them.”
The assembly members will be collecting diapers and baby wipes at their office on 668 Main Street in Lumberton until Feb. 25. Diapers and baby wipes can be mailed or dropped off to the office, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“The Burlington County WIC Program provides assistance to nearly 4,000 clients, so there are a whole lot of mothers and children in need of our help.” Peters said. “Our community has come together in a big way every month that we do these projects, and I am confident they’ll show that same generosity during our diaper and baby wipe drive.”
Stanfield, Peters and their 8th Legislative District office staff have held a monthly “Day of Service,” which has seen them collect hundreds of pounds of produce for food banks, give out thousands of free meals to seniors, stock and paint a domestic violence safe house and more.
Please reach out to 8th Legislative District Event Coordinator Nikki Maskell @ nmaskell@njleg.org if you’d like to contribute to this event or be added to the volunteer list for any future “Day of Service” events.
