Atlantic City Women’s March Announces They Will Hold Rally after March in Historic Boardwalk Hall Where Fannie Lou Hamer Challenged Jim Crow
 
Atlantic City, NJ – The 2019 Atlantic City Women’s March Leadership Committee announced today that the Rally after the March on Saturday January 19, 2019 will take place in Historic Boardwalk Hall at the site where Fannie Lou Hamer challenged Jim Crow at the 1964 Democratic Convention.  Also announced was the anticipated performance of award winning actress Ms. Helen Sims of the Fannie Lou Hamer Museum in Belzoni, Mississippi. “In order for us to really celebrate the history of the moment, it is with great pride that we will have the rally in the same building where Fannie Lou Hamer made history.” said Freeholder Ashley Bennett.  Estina Baker, National Staff CWA-NJ and Senior Adviser to the march added, “The most important thing that we want people to understand as we educate, enlighten and entertain is that ALL are welcome as we celebrate Fannie Lou Hamer and the history that she made in NJ.”
 
The Atlantic City Women’s March will also honor three women in the Labor Movement.  The honorees are Laurel Brennan, Secretary-Treasurer of the NJ AFL-CIO; Hetty Rosenstein, Area Director of NJ-CWA and Lenace Edwards, Political Director of 32bj in NJ. The entire Rally Program will be announced on Monday January 14, 2019.

MARCH: Gathering Point: New Jersey Ave. and Pacific at 10:00 AM
March launches at 11:00 AM on the Boardwalk to Boardwalk Hall
RALLY: Boardwalk Hall at 12 Noon
