Atlantic County Young Republicans Elect Fitzherbert Chair, Borkowki Vice Chair

South Jersey’s Harry Hurley reports that Brian Fitzherbert has announced his candidacy in Congressional District 2. Last year, Fitzherbert vied for the GOP nomination in a crowded primary, but was knocked off the ballot after rival Hirsh Singh challenged his petition signature.

The Atlantic County Young Republicans released the following statement regarding their latest re-organization meeting:

At last month’s meeting in Hammonton, the Atlantic County Young Republicans held their inaugural organizational election. ACYR elected Brian T. Fitzherbert as Chairman, and elected Maryetta Borkowski as Vice Chair, Derek Valenti as 2nd Vice Chair, Greg Seher as 3rd Vice Chair, Matt Cadira as Treasurer, Galloway GOP Club leader Chris Coleman and Sophie Dati as Social Media Managers, and Atlantic City GOP Club President Fernando Fernandez as Secretary. In addition, Jack Glasser III will serve as Sergeant at Arms and attorney Dominic DePamphilis will serve as unofficial legal counsel.  This group will constitute the executive committee of ACYR.

“In less than a year, ACYR has become a model for other counties in South Jersey to replicate. We’re here to show that the Democrats don’t have a monopoly on younger voters. With dozens of members attending our monthly meetings, ACYR will continue to grow stronger and fight for smaller government, lower taxes, economic freedom, and a future that keeps young people in Atlantic County,” said Chairman Fitzherbert. “We know time is our weapon and we’re just getting started.”

The Atlantic County Young Republicans have swelled as an organization to over fifty members in less seven months. With so much interest, Chairman Fitzherbert took the liberty of expanding what defines a Young Republican in the county to those that are between ages of 14-45, due to overwhelming responsiveness from high school students and Regular Republicans just on the cusp of age forty.

“Atlantic County government is controlled by the Republican Party even though they’re outnumbered by Democrats. Why is that? Because the Republican Party gets things done. ACYR will continue to serve as a pipeline to grow the future leaders, elected officials, strategists, operatives, and volunteers to join the municipal, county and legislative ranks in the years to come,” said Vice Chair Borkowski.

The Atlantic County Young Republicans meet on the third Thursday of every month at a local venue within the county. For meeting information, follow the organization on Facebook and Instagram or contact via email, AtlanticCountyYR@gmail.com
