Bayonne Medical Center Recognized as 2018 Top Teaching Hospital by the Leapfrog Group
BMC is only Hudson County Hospital to be named a 2018 Top Hospital by the National Healthcare Non-profit
BAYONNE, N.J., December 6, 2018 – CarePoint Health’s Bayonne Medical Center was one of only 12 New Jersey hospitals who received a 2018 Top Hospitals Award, being recognized as a Top Teaching Hospital by national healthcare nonprofit, the Leapfrog Group. Bayonne Medical Center, who is receiving the award for a second consecutive year, was the only Hudson County hospital to receive a 2018 Top Hospital Award from Leapfrog.
The announcement comes on the heels of Bayonne Medical Center receiving an “A” for hospital safety from Leapfrog – the highest score possible – earlier this fall.

Only 118 U.S. hospitals were named a 2018 Top Hospital by Leapfrog and of that only 53 were named Top Teaching hospitals. Scoring includes a number of factors including performance across many areas of hospital care including surgical quality, preventing infections, use of technology to prevent errors and reduction of C-sections and leadership policies and practices.
